Born in Copenhagen, 1959, Italian-Danish family, bilingual upbringing. School and university in Copenhagen.

MA in Italian and History (U of Cph. 1987), Conference Interpreter (Cph. Business School 1988).

Literary translator since 1978 (Rushdie, Heller, Zadie Smith, Patrick O’Brian, Eco, Tomasi di Lampedusa, Collodi etc. into Danish);

Non-fiction writer (Italy, Italian history, Rome, Italian food, London, the Mafia); freelance journalist (Italian subjects, book reviews, food etc.); WW2 biographies.

Teaching: Italian Current Affairs and Conference Interpretation (Copenhagen Business School); Translation; Quality Management in publishing.

Member of the European Jury for the Aristeion Prize for Literary Translation 1994-1995, Chairman 1995, and of the European Jury for the Aristeion Prize for Literature 1996-1997, Chairman 1997; President of the Danish Literature Council (1996-2000); Adjunct Professor, Copenhagen Business School (2004-); President of the Danish Pro Venezia Committee (2005-2010);
